Global Nuclear Disarmament Fund Japan, -Preparatory Committee Volunteers
During the process of incorporating the GND Fund in Japan, the following people have donated their skills, expertise and leadership as part of the Preparatory Committee.
Shingo Kanaoya – For 40 years, Shingo Kanaoya has been involved in the field of international finance and multi-national executive management. Spending 15 years in London and Paris, Mr. Kanaoya is a well connected professional in areas of business, politics, and philanthropy. He has been involved with the GND Fund working tirelessly since its inception, is currently serving as Director of the international organization, and participates in disarmament negotiations together with Matt Taylor and other GND Fund diplomats.
Keiichiro Kai – Has helped establish several charity funds in Japan and is currently head of the International Red Ribbon Foundation Aids Project for Japan. Mr. Kai has worked tirelessly to help Japan become a barrier-free country for wheelchair bound individuals, and sponsors annual events for many causes. Mr. Kai, also heads the Kaiyo Kai Group, and was the first private group to pledge funds to sponsor the dismantlement of 3 nuclear weapons through the GND Fund.
Haruyuki Ichigo – Perhaps Japans most celebrated family name in the art of making traditional Japanese wood lacquer treasures. The Ichigo Family has made traditional wood lacquer pieces for various world leaders and the Japanese Imperial Family since 1849. Carrying forward the legacy, Haruyuki Ichigo’s priceless treasures are featured in museums and exhibitions around the world. Ichigo designed and donated the special wood lacquer boxes that house the sealed ashes of the ‘Atomic Flame’ combined with the earth from the Trinity Site that will be presented to the heads of state from each of the eight countries with nuclear weapons.
Yoji Iwaoka – Self-made successful urban developer with a passion for humanity and since of social responsibility, Mr. Iwaoka founded the famous Raman Hakubutsukan in Yokohama Japan. Perhaps the most popular privately developed urban destination spots in the city, the facility attracts millions of school children and families each year. Mr. Iwaoka was the first private citizen to answer the challenge from Steven Seagal for each global citizen to help destroy nuclear weapons by matching the $100,000 donation needed to sponsor the dismantlement of a single nuclear weapon.
